Descent and chromatic homotopy theory

IRMA, 2‐5 September 2019

The aim of this 4-day workshop is to pursue the deep connections between derived algebraic geometry and chromatic stable homotopy, with a focus on descent and its applications to :
* Picard groups and to the interaction between chromatic and equivariant stable homotopy theory ;
* interactions with modular representation theory ;
* implications for asymptotic phenomena in chromatic homotopy theory.

Organizers : Christian Ausoni (Université Paris 13), Tobias Barthel (University of Copenhagen), Paul Goerss (Northwestern University), Hans-Werner Henn (Unversité de Strasbourg) and Geoffrey Powell (Université d’Angers)

Speakers :

There will be four series of lectures :
- Tobias Barthel (Copenhagen) : Asymptotics in chromatic homotopy theory
- Jesper Grodal (Copenhagen) : Picard groups via categorical decomposition techniques
- Lennart Meier (Utrecht) : Tensor ideals and descent
- Vesna Stojanoska (Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) : Chromatic and equivariant stable homotopy theory, descent and Picard groups

and invited talks by :
- Agnès Beaudry (Colorado)
- Nat Stapleton (Kentucky)
- Viet-Cuong Pham (Strasbourg).

The first day of the workshop will be introductory in nature and is aimed at
graduate students as well as interested mathematicians in adjacent fields.

Registration is free but mandatory, deadline for registration : 30 June 2019.
