The "Ecole Doctorale de Mathématiques, Sciences de l’Information et de l’Ingénieur (ED n°269)" administers doctoral training in mathematics at the Université de Strasbourg. The IRMA, where students are based, usually has about 40 doctoral students from all over the world and provides a friendly environment and excellent working conditions.
After completing a Master of mathematics students who wish to prepare a doctoral thesis can apply for a grant. Thesis topics and the application form for a grant can be found on the postgraduate website.
A student will defend his (her) thesis before a jury after on average 3 or 4 years.
It is also possible for students to prepare a thesis with a supervisor in Strasbourg and a supervisor in another country (see also the website of the European Doctoral College).
Christine Noot-Huyghe and Hans-Werner Henn are in charge of the programme.
