Abstract.
TeX is a software created by Knuth, whose purpose is to typeset mathematical texts by using a computer. The underlying program has been implemented in the UNIVAC 1110 computer at the University of Strasbourg. The purpose of this paper is to give a brief description of this software, to make a comparison with the other softwares in use, such as UNIX+TROFF+EQN, and to indicate what the Calcul de l'Esplanade de Strasbourg intends to with it, as well as the other word processings.
