Une méthode combinatoire pour l'étude des
fonctions spéciales
Abstract.This is an expository paper discussing the combinatorial
methods that were introduced in the 70-80's for proving a large class of
identities involving special functions, especially orthogonal polynomials. The
Mehler identity for the Hermite polynomials, together with its multilinear
extension are proved by means of the composé partitionnel technique.
