Jacobi and Watson Identities Combinatorially Revisited
Abstract.
The two forms of the Jacobi triple product identity
are reproved in a combinatorial way. This illustrates the fact that each
partition can be given a k-Frobenius symbol for each integer k, positive or
negative. The Watson quintuple product identity
is derived by means of a straightforward "manipulatorics".
